The finishing point.
On Monday 8 August the Right Honourable Secretary accompanied me on a trip to the Island of Arran to recce two walks I am doing for ADRC.Firstly after catching the 7.00AM ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick we got the bus round to the North west coast of the island to start the walk at Glen Catacol. It was a fairly cloudy morning first thing with quite high winds when we set off up the glen. I will give no great detail on the walk as it is a recce for an October outing when hopefully we will hear the deer rutting which gave me the idea for walk in the first place. Suffice to say when we climbed to 430M the views down Glen Iorsa were stunning with the mountain ranges towering high up into the clouds. Passing down through Glen Easan Biorach which was quite difficult underfoot with all the rocks on the paths we arrived at Lochranza Distillery where we had lunch, not inside I hasten to add but on  a picnic table on the lawn. This was an 8 mile grade "B" walk which hopefully can be utilised into the group's programme. This was our morning walk we still had another one for the afternoon.
