The leader.
Todays walk should have been to Dalmellington area but due to very wet underfoot condtions the leader cancelled this idea and substituted an old favourite 6 mile circular walk on the River Ayr paths. He led this walk back in March 2011 so I will only give brief details today. Starting off from Oswald Hall in Auchincruive Estate we crossed over the bridge to the path that eventually led us to the village of Annbank. It was a cold day with just the odd shower so it was good to have all the trees to shelter us from the wind. We still have the same access problem to the path in Annbank where the local farmer has blocked the route. Again it has been reported to the access convenor of the council but so far no action has been taken.Lunch was enjoyed at the riverside before we entered the gardens of Auchincruive. It was here in a sheltered corner we saw a flowering rhododendron bush which is obviously confused with the recent mild weather. Back to the cars to end a short pleasant winters walk with thanks to the leader and the South Ayrshire ramblers for  allowing me to join them yet again.

  1. The plants have no idea what season it is.
There's just too much colour for December.
It was a pretty colourful day at the Tigh na Mara.
