Elite walkers. Straiton circular. April 2012
Today 3 of us decided to to do a 7 mile circular walk at the lovely village of Straiton in South Ayrshire. We met at the car park on a cold windy morning ,last week we were in shorts and T shirts not today it was blowing a hooly from the North East more like weather for the brass monkeys. This is a walk we have done before the most recent with Cunninghame Ramblers which I blogged back in November 2011.We climbed Monument Hill before doing a new circuit which took in Largs and Kildoach hills before descending down to Craig Farm. Now we had a steep ascent up to the summit of Bennan Hill when the snow and sleet came on coupled with the wind it was becoming a wee bit unpleasant to say the least so we decided to to just make our way back to the car park and call it a day.No photos today the conditions did not lend themselves to photography but it was still an enjoyable walk reminding us that the Scottish winter is still not over.

The Wigtownshire Ramblers need to get walking around Straiton. Ayrshire are far ahead of Dumfries and Galloway in their 'In Situ' village walks.
